I wrote “A Day in the Life at Corona College, Fall 2020” in the summer of 2020, the heart of the pandemic when colleges were trying to make plans for the fall semester. I wondered what college would really look like under pandemic concerns. So I created such a place, and imagined this new world. “A Day in the Life at Corona College, Fall 2020” is based on conversations with student/parent focus groups and a review of fall semester plans for a variety of colleges and universities: public, private, small to large. Together with students, we wrote a personal diary of a student on campus under the university’s strict guidelines and format.The following is a hypothetical narrative by a fictional character named Izzy, going through her day at “Corona College” in what could well be a non-fictional scenario.
